Meet Joanna Acosta DDS

Background and Credentials

Dr. Joanna Acosta grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, and dreamed of becoming a dentist since high school. She was always fascinated about the story behind every smile, and the beauty that a contagious smile can bring, physically and emotionally. In pursuit of this dream, Dr. Acosta attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she completed her undergraduate degree. She continued her studies at VCU School of Dentistry to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2019. Dr. Acosta went on to receive her certification in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry after two years of postdoctoral training. She is committed to learning and staying abreast of the latest dental technology in order to provide her patients with the best level of care. Dr. Acosta is a certified Invisalign® provider, and is currently working on earning her FAGD, a distinction that is recognized by only 6% of all general dentists in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Acosta is dedicated to creating an empathetic and educative dental experience that is catered to positively transforming patients' oral health. She approaches dentistry with care and compassion, and strives to restore confident smiles by providing quality treatments. She hopes to inspire those who are seeking dental wellness that it is possible and you are not alone in this journey!

In her free time, Dr. Acosta loves spending time with her family, playing board games, and foodie adventuring with her fiancé.
